Mississippi Denies CS Practice For Massage Therapists

Mississippi has does no accept Craniosacral Therapy as continuing education units for massage therapists because its' law prohibits "manipulation or adjustment of osseous tissue."

Here in Alabama, our scope of practice allows manipulation of soft tissue. In CS we use the bones as "handles" to access to fascia. Any micro-movement of bone occurs because soft membranes beneath the bones have softened and released.

According to Dr. John Upledger, "practitioners focus on releasing restrictions in the soft-tissue, fascia and musculature that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord."
