More Education Venues for Massage Therapists

Community Colleges are jumping on board the education bandwagon by offering Associates Degrees in massage therapy. An example of this can be found in this Brattleboro, Vermont article. Here in north Alabama, we also have a community college offering massage curriculum. I think this is a good idea because it requires that these programs meet certain requirements to offer a quality education. In researching my massage school, I looked for programs approved by COMTA and ACCET and also by the Department of Education which allowed programs to offer student loans.

Unfortunately, institutions who are not governed by outside regulation can offer a massage education which is subpar, leaving its students unprepared for the national certification exam or in a postion to hurt their future clients. You owe it to yourself and your clients to get the best education your money can buy.
