Pilates Improves Core Strength

This is a good overview of Pilates and what it can do to improve overall health and posture. Pictures of some of the exercises are available with this article. I often recommend Pilates-like exercises for my clients with low back pain.

In Pilates, emphasis is placed on strengthening one's core, the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine.
