Thai Massage

A Clarksburg, West Virginia massage therapist is integrating Thai massage with more traditional massage techniques in her practice:

"It's like yoga for lazy people, with all the same benefits," she said.

The technique results in better overall flexibility, better range of motion and better movement of internal energy, Dunlevy said.

"You get the stretching and meditation of yoga, acupressure along your energy meridian and reflexology all in one," she said.

As is readily imagined, one does not take Thai massage lying down. This form of massage therapy has a most definite twist.

"You're on a mat on the floor fully dressed in loose clothing, and you are put into yoga postures," Dunlevy said. "With some of the advanced postures, it looks like you're watching (professional) wrestling."
