Massage Is Everywhere

As massage therapy becomes more mainstream, massage venues are popping up everywhere.

Once much more common in beauty and health salons, massages are being done now at a variety of places: grocery stores, airports, some workplaces, professional conventions, shopping malls.

"You used to see them only in a wellness center or some kind of alternative medicine center separate from the hospital. But now they're permeating throughout the hospital environment."

Several factors account for the growth, she says, including improved professionalism due to schools and certification, research that describes the benefits of massage and mobile chairs and tables that make it easy for therapists to set up almost anywhere.
