Massage Relief Studied

A new study to determine weather touch therapies help reduce pain in advanced stage cancer patients is under way nationwide. Several Hospice organizations are involved as study participants.

The study will quantify the belief that massage therapy decreases pain, improves quality of life and reduces physical and emotional distress in advanced-cancer patients, officials said.

“We expect the data from this study to confirm that those who receive massage therapy will experience a better quality of life and enhanced comfort during end-of-life care.”
