Adding A New Candidate To Animal Massage
If massage can benefit your dog and your horse, then why not a lion?
The Madison, Wis., therapist was in town to work on unconventional massage recipients – three adult lions.
Two of the lions have been feeling a little under the weather lately, prompting Scholl-Zygarlicke to offer her help, along with that of Pat Hodges of Bowling Green, who added aromatherapy to the treatment regimen.
The cat’s teeth have also been worn down from years of gnawing on bones and grinding other foods, and he also suffers from painful arthritis that makes it difficult for him to move around, Maxwell said.
Leo rolled onto his back and stayed still as the women massaged his body and Maxwell rubbed him with a comb to remove fur the lion shed.
