Taking The Stress Out Of Retirement

"Ideally, retirement should be a relatively stress free period of one’s life, but for a variety of reasons, many retirees are finding it is not the peaceful lifestyle they anticipated", says author and retirement counselor, Kaye Healey.

Kay says, "According to a Harvard study there are four circumstances under which retirement is stressful. When it is unplanned and involuntary, the wage or salary is the only means of income, one’s home life is unhappy and work has provided an escape and there is pre-existing bad health.

Identify the causes of your stress; find ways to resolve the underlying issues; develop a positive attitude; improve relationships by developing your people skills; exercise; and meditation and massage.
