Creative Gift Giving

What do you get those "hard to shop for" folks on your Christmas list? You know who they are--they have everything they need or want and are watching their weight (so food gifts are out).

Give an experience for Christmas this year. Theater, concert or sports shows are a good idea. Or give the gift of health.

For the person on your list who is desperately seeking some deep relaxation, a massage can give them an experience that is both relaxing and good for blood circulation.

Donations to charitable organizations in your friend or family member's name is a thoughtful way to help others who may not be as amply gifted. My favorite is a donation to Hospice. My friend who inspired this idea contributes a gift basket of personal items to someone in need (toothpaste, soap, deodorant, socks, etc.). My mother used to contribute the same to an outreach program for female inmates.

So, get clever, get creative. Good luck and Merry Christmas.
