Vets Embracing Alternative Treatments

Veterinarians are embracing alternative medicine, such as acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, Chinese herbs and homeopathy.

David A. Hirsch of Cape May Court House, N.J., a 1983 graduate of Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, has also trained in acupuncture, Chinese herbs and chiropractic. "I practice a lot of traditional Western medicine," he said, "but on top of that I am able to offer my clients and their animals things that would really benefit them."
