Diabetes And Massage

As more Americans are diagnosed with diabetes, more questions arise concerning management of the disease. Along with that are questions about whether massage therapy benefits diabetes and can be implemented into an ongoing care program.

As for massage, the benefits of relaxation and improved circulation are generally considered to be beneficial. There is anecdotal evidence that massage can affect blood sugar, usually by lowering it. Therefore, it would be prudent to check with your local massage schools to find a therapist who has proper training and experience working with diabetics.
