Women's Health

Some common female health problems, such as PMS, dysmenorrhea, vaginitis, and fibrocystic breast disease have alternative therapies to help control symptoms.

Diet, vitamin and mineral supplementation, exercise, and stress management are holistic approaches intended to help women regain their health and maintain overall well-being. Other alternative or complementary treatments include acupuncture, massage, and natural hormone therapies. However, when complementary therapies are not enough, some conditions are best treated with surgery.

Another condition that affects approximately 20% of women is endometriosis. While the severity of symptoms vary, it can cause chronic pain, emotional torment and may lead to infertility.

There are several ways women cope with endometriosis. You will find that some may work for you while others may not. Stop feeling like a victim; find an outlet to release all of your negative emotions and feelings; surround yourself with inspirational thoughts; learn to focus on you; become an active participant in your health care; and surround yourself with loved ones who understand.
