Alternative Medicine And Seasonal Allergies

Ross Lake is an acupuncturist and herbalist in Willits, California. He recently offered a guide to spring allergies, and some ways to relieve those nasty symptoms in his local newspaper, The Willits News.

Acupuncture can both reduce symptoms immediately and also build long-term immunity and resistance. By inserting sterile, disposable needles in acupuncture points, energy can be directed to and from organs and tissues. If the sinuses are inflamed and congested, points are selected that draw energy away from the nose and head; if resistance is poor, points are selected to tone immune function. Using this same approach, acupuncture can treat a myriad of problems (chronic or acute pain, gynecological problems, etc.) other than allergies.
