Spa Industry Is Booming
The spa industry is booming according to the International Spa Association, of Lexington, KY.
A day spa offers a variety of services to customers on a daytime basis, including massages, baths, manicures, and pedicures.
"When someone goes to a health or fitness center, a resort or hotel, or a salon, they want a place where they can 'get it all,' which frequently includes having a spa treatment," said Lynne Walker McNees, president of the International Spa Association. "Additionally, people no longer see spas as pampering, but instead as a requisite to stay healthy."
Medical spas are among the fastest growing in the spa industry. It primarily serves people preparing for or recovering from reconstructive surgery, but also offers typical day spa services, and many customers use it for a weekly or monthly wellness or fitness regimen, said Antoinette D'Emilion, Bella Via manager.
