Taking Off For A Training Seminar

Continuing education is a requirement of licensure in my state. I usually try to go to the highest quality classes I can find (and afford). I build one class a year into my budget for continuing education.

However, with the changes to the NCBTMB requirements that allow college courses as continuing education credits, I have decided to make a change this year to my CE course. As some of you know, I'm taking some classes at our local community college to fulfill requirements for attendance to graduate school in 2008. This, along with a scheduling conflict with my next Visceral Manipulation class, led me to choose a practice building course.

SkillPath is a nationwide seminar company that is offering a class on How To Be A Better Communicator. Because this class is offered locally, I'm saving a substantial amount of money on airline and hotel accomdations. Also, being a one day class, I only miss one day of work. The cost per credit hour is in line with other classes I've taken.

What do I hope to gain from this class? I have a tendency to use too many words to get my point across. As a result, I lose my audience. Hopefully this class will improve my blogging skills. I'll report back about this the usefulness and quality of this class.
