Combatting Parkinson's With Yoga And Massage

A chronic neurological disorder, Parkinson's Disease, is incurable. However, mental and emotional support is key for coping. One young-onset patient has found additional ways to help with Parkinson's symptoms.

To help counter the stiffness that comes with Parkinson's, O'Leary started yoga and massage therapy. "One of the biggest problems is stress amplifies the (disease's) symptoms," he says. Yoga stretches and exercises and massage help him manage the stiffness and stress.

"Don't sit at home and hide away. Get in touch with people who are like you." O'Leary wants people to know he has Parkinson's disease. "The only way we're going to get funding for research is by letting people know."
