A Personal Bell's Palsy Experience
The Herald chronicles a woman and her experiences with Bell's Palsy, as well as a major Scottish study of treatments of this disease.
Fiona found it helpful to look up Bell's palsy on the internet. When she discovered that it could be caused by a virus, she felt she should boost her immune system and took zinc, echinacea and vitamin C and also had cranial massage from a friend.
Bell's palsy is the most common cause of facial paralysis, and is a form of temporary facial paralysis resulting from damage or trauma to one of the two facial nerves.
