After The Fire
Imagine getting a panicked phone call that your home is on fire. You arrive home and the fire department is there, having broken in and rescued your pets (thank goodness). But everything you own is covered with soot or reeks of smoke.
This happened to one of my clients. Besides the stress of the situation, the disorientation of being relocated, the inconvenience of being without their stuff, there is the headache of the cleaning up. Venturing into the smoke damaged property to rescue your belongings has its hazards. They arrived yesterday congested with aching lungs.
For my client, I started with a simple Swedish massage to relieve tension in the shoulders and neck. I worked on the sinuses using a combination of lymph drainage therapy, craniosacral therapy and pressure points. Finally, I addressed the lung discomfort by doing lymph drainage on the lungs and craniosacral therapy to soften the diaphragm. They left the session sounding considerably less congested.
