Equine Massage Keeps Horses Running

Warunporn "Mea" Nazareth was a veternarian in her native land of Thailand. However, when she moved to the U.S. she found her medical license was not recognized here. So, she decided to take up animal massage while she worked toward her veternary degree.

"I always thought that I could use this training in the future if I became a veterinarian here," she said.

It was pretty amazing to see. Mea watched how my horse walked and then ran her hand down Blondy's spine and felt a knot where she was in pain," said Unrue, of Spencerport. "I was so surprised at what a little rubdown could do."

Nazareth believes focusing on the horse's back legs is key. "The hind legs are their engine. It's where they get all their power," she said.
