Hospice Massage Therapy Study

A study by two Washington universities is gauging the effects of massage therapy on terminally ill cancer patients.

This article moved me in many ways, perhaps most by the response of one cancer patient to her weekly massages:

Cancer robbed Faulkner of her strength to go for walks. Massage keeps her muscles limber and improves her range of motion, she said. It also makes the pain more bearable and lifts her spirits.

"I'm like a cat," she said. "I love to be touched."
