Finding Happiness
Oftentimes, the things we think will make us happy are not really what makes us happy. Huh? I thought I knew myself better than that!
Actually, people that say that lots of money are what will make them happiest probably derive most of their real happiness from close friends, good health and meaningful work. Pursuit of meaningful work is one of the reasons I decided to go back to school at age 30 to learn massage therapy.
Need a tune up about how to enjoy life? Here are 13 tips for procuring happiness:
1) Don’t compare yourself to others.
2) Foster close relationships.
3) Have sex.
4) Get regular exercise.
5) Obtain adequate sleep.
6) Set and pursue goals.
7) Find meaningful work.
8) Join a group.
9) Don’t dwell on the past.
10) Embrace routine.
11) Practice moderation.
12) Be grateful.
13) Help others.
