Here's an interesting twist on massage therapy law. In South Korea, the courts have ruled that only blind people can become massage therapists. Naturally, this has outraged sighted massage workers and they are protesting the new legislation.
Blind massage workers, who are often patronised by customers seeking to avoid embarrassment, see the trade as a traditional livelihood.
In other words, this legislation is passed, in part, due to cultural traditions. Interesting.
