Poisonous Foods That We Eat
I love food. I love to eat food, cook food, take pictures of food, etc. I also love to read about food. Yes, I read cookbooks for fun. Okay, total nerd here, right?
If you love food too, you may find this article interesting: Top poisonous foods that we love to eat.
1) Mushrooms -- full of good-for-you micro-nutrients and immune enhancers. Unless you know what you're doing, stick to eating the ones from the store.
2) Pufferfish -- sushi anyone?
3) Elderberry -- never heard of this
4) Caster Oil -- yuck! 'nuf said
5) Almonds -- skins of almonds contain analgesic qualities.
6) Cherries -- pure cherry juice is supposed to help with gout.
7) Apples -- "An apple a day . . . you know the rest."
8) Rhubarb -- I love Rhubarb pie. However, according to Paul Pitchfield's book Healing with Whole Foods, Rhubarb is acid producing in the body much the way meat, refined sugar and flour is, so eat in moderation.
9) Tomatoes -- heirloom varieties are exciting to search for and grow.
10) Potatoes -- most of the nutrients are next to the skin.
Bon apetite, but be careful out there!
