The Eyes Have It

I need a massage for the ache behind my eyes. Actually, I probably need to flood my system with water. We just had a cold front pass through and the weather is much drier than it has been for the past month.

Also, the new semester started last week and I have 16 chapters (all between 20 and 60 pages each) I'm supposed to read in preparation for our first exam. And that's just in one course. I have another course where we have to read an entire book before that one's first exam. A third course we meet for as many as 4 hours a day and sometimes 7 hours with a lunch break in there somewhere. This does not include selected research articles we're required to read in order to supplement the information in the books.

I don't mean to complain, but Jiminy Cricket that's a lot of reading. Enough to raise cortisol levels. And I'm not a fast reader. I'm in desperate need of speed reading or block skimming or a Spock mind-meld with the instructor. Does anybody have any suggestions for how I can improve my the speed of my reading while retaining comprehension?

And if you've got a tip for massaging that place behind my eyes, I'd appreciate that, too.
