The Power Of Personal Change

In a rut? Here's some suggestions for a life overhaul you can accomplish in just one month. It's easy to do and will lead you to better health and a stronger sense of well-being.

Most ruts are caused by a lack of self-care – for example, little to no exercise, sub-par nutrition, zero personal reflection, insufficient sleep, etc.

Some ideas for cleaning up your act:
1) Empty your refrigerator and pantry of anything that has high-fructose corn syrup and ingredients that say "partially hydrogenated."
2) Restock with oatmeal, eggs, chopped walnuts, fresh baby spinach, skinless chicken breasts, raw almonds, raisins, salmon fillets, whole wheat bread, canned tuna, unprocessed cheese, four vegetables of your choice, and three fruits of your choice (that means things that contain protein, omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, whole grains, and vitamins).
3) Cut your alcohol consumption by half.
4) Go get a physical examination from your doctor.
5) Eat breakfast. It's easy -- you have good ingredients from your revamped pantry.
6) Spend 20 minutes, two times per week performing some type of enjoyable physical activity.
7) Get a good nights sleep.

We must eventually come to our senses and realize that there’s no point in going through life feeling unmotivated, tired, stressed out, and unhealthy. Misery is, after all, a choice.
