Essential Oils Fight Deadly Bacteria

Essential oils exhibit an antibacterial effect against the staph bacteria and E. coli according to research carried out at the University of Manchester.

The new study from the UK shows that three essential oils killed MRSA, E. coli and many other bacteria and fungi after two minutes of contact. The oils can easily be blended and made into soaps and shampoos for use by hospital staff, doctors and patients. Researchers are seeking funding to develop their work and carry out a clinical trial.
